About Us
The Department of Software Engineering focuses on teaching and research in the field of software and database systems and their applications. The department comprises several research groups, covering topics such as multimedia retrieval, recommender systems, semantic web and linked data technologies, knowledge graphs, data integration, big data, research-software and bioinformatics applications, cloud computing, and high-performance parallel systems.
Our research is conducted within the national and European research frameworks, as well as applied and contract-research projects. The department provides courses for undergraduate and graduate students in software and data engineering programs.
